Safety Tips
In the US, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said tipped-over furniture or television sets killed a US child every two weeks.
In an earthquake prone country like New Zealand, securing free-standing furniture and avoiding placing unsecured heavy items on top of furniture is best practice to prevent injury to the whole family.
At Urban Sales, We take product safety and customer confidence are our highest priorities. We would like to urge our kiwi customers to ensure their IKEA chests and dressers are securely anchored to the wall.
For most of the furniture on the market (not brand or design specific), such as wardrobes, bookcases and tall drawer units should be fixed to the wall, in order to avoid furniture tipping over and falling on children. We encourage Kiwi parents to take measures to keep curious children safe to prevent furniture tip over accidents.
***** IMPORTANT TO KNOW *****
● Furniture must be securely attached to the wall. Use the tip-over restraint provided with the product and the right hardware for your wall type. If the product is secured correctly to the wall as per the assembly instructions, it will be perfectly safe for use.
● Never put a TV or other heavy objects on top of a chest of drawers or any furniture not intended for use with a TV.
● Place heavy objects in the lowest drawers.
● Never let children climb or hang on drawers, doors or shelves.***** WALL ANCHORING GUIDE *****
Furniture must be securely attached to the wall. The hardware used to secure your furniture to the wall depends on your wall material. If your wall material is not listed or if you have any questions, consult with a local hardware retailer.

If the product is secured correctly to the wall as per the assembly instructions, it will be perfectly safe for use.
